About the Pageant Playoffs
Contestants are divided relatively evenly into 4 regions: West, Mid-West, South and North-East. Voters will be able to rank and vote for their favorite contestants. Note: Voting is only open to members of Pageant Almanac's Mailing List. After two rounds of voting, the Pageant Playoffs Top 20 will be determined. Subsequent rounds of voting will cut the number of finalists to a Top 15, a Top 10, and finally to a Top 5.
Counting the Votes - Ranked ballots will be counted using an instant runoff voting (IRV) method. Judges rank candidates in order of preference. If no candidate receives an overall majority of first preferences, the candidates with fewest votes are eliminated one by one, and their votes transferred according to their second and third preferences (and so on) and all votes retallied, until one candidate achieves a majority. more >>
